Even though she was a slave in a pack, this dame had been wandering around quite a bit. Her pack had been driven apart from the fire, and she hadn't seen many of its members. She lingered along its borders now, her timid body close to the ground and she slunk about. No scent of anyone that was recent. The dame then turned her head away from her pack lands, towards the other areas. She could run away, and they wouldn't be able to find her. In her many years of being a Sklavin, she had learned how to hide quite well and often in plain sight. While her red hued coat didn't help her, she had a few tricks in her bag. So with one last sniff of Durkell, she bounded off.
Echo's steps were hesitant at first, her slim, arrow like body almost hugging the earth as she walked. Her shorter tail swung to and fro, her good ear flickering at any sound it picked up. She never stopped checking the air, fear coursing through her as she moved away from her so called home. While there was not much activity, there was always a possibility of someone following her. This dame was not one for letting her guard down, not even for a moment. But she found that the more distance she put between her and Durkell, the calmer her racing heart seemed to be. Allowing herself to stand somewhat taller, she slowed her pace and actually looked at the land that she was walking though. The tall, dense forest was beginning to thin out, the ground becoming more sponge like. Her blue eyes were cast downward as she walked on, looking for the lighter patches of earth that would not suck her in as she stepped.
Carefully picking her way across the land, she finally paused and took in a deep breath. The scent of a pack soon filled her nose, but one scent stood out to her. Nirco. His was the more dominant scent, its sweet, familiar smell filling her nares. She had entered his land. His. Her Nirco, the alpha of Groavche. Echo's very closed off heart sore with pride for him. That big brute had done it, he had claimed these lands for his own! There was not many other wolf's scents mixed with his, so she figured that he had not had much luck recruiting thus far. Not very surprising, he wasn't the very sociable type. Laughing softly, she stood as tall as her short body allowed her to and cast her gaze around. There was no sign of him. Echo sat on the dry earth, pretty much right along the border. She was unsure of what to do, if she should just march on in and look for him, or if she should call him to her. The idea of howling scared her though, what if one of her old pack mates heard her and came looking? Fear entered her body once more and she slunk over to a bush, choosing to squeeze her body into its prickly middle. Curling herself slightly, and satisfied at her hiding spot, she allowed a light, timid howl to leave her maw. Echo kept it short and sweet, hunkering down as she alerted everyone to her whereabouts.
The fae hoped that it was Nirco that came to see who howled, although she would be surprised if he did not recognize her vocals. While she didn't howl often, the sound was quite unique to her. Laying her her flat on the ground, her blue eyes scoped out the area from her vantage point, looking for that dark hued brute she knew and missed.
